Planting Season

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!

"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully." (II Cor. 9:6)

It is planting season and green thumbs are showing ready for work. Landscaper's, gardeners, and farmer's are in full planting mode. The ground is workable and the weather is ideal for seeds to take root.

Christians, do you have your seed? The fruits of the Spirit are always available and ready year round for the willing sower. God tells us that we can have confidence that what we have planted will come up! I urge you to get busy and plant, plant. Scatter some patience, love and humility. Sow some peace, gentleness, and some kindness. Plant the word of God everywhere you can and believe that God will do the His part.

Looking around, one can see our spiritual fruit crop is diminishing! Even some of the familiar places, churches for example, are seeing a drop in fruit bearing. Weeds are working their way into the empty spaces and taking root more and more. I am quite confident in the good seed, we just need willing sowers. You can't expect growth if the seed has not been planted. Let us take time and pray for laborers.

"And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach the name of Jesus." (Acts 4:18) Is the world winning the war against Christianity? Have we lost our voice, are we afraid to speak out for Christ or have we forgotten the message? Do we fear the world; are we ashamed of Christ or the Gospel? Do we feel outnumbered and therefore remain silent?

"We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard!" (Acts 4:20) We must never forget Christ has purchased salvation for us! We must never forget that the very salvation we have received is too big for the world to hold!

Salvation was too much for the whale that swallowed Jonah and it is too much for anything in this world that would try to swallow us up! Salvation was too much for the chains that held Peter captive and it is too much for anything in the world that would want to imprison us. Salvation was too much for the storm that surrounded the disciples and it is too much for the fears that tempt our lives. Salvation was too much for the veil and it is too much for anything in this world that tries to separate us from God!

Salvation is ours and is freely given to the true believer in Christ. Salvation is too big for the world so brothers and sisters in Christ receive your gift and let the seed of salvation pour out everywhere!

"And when they prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were filled with the Holy Ghost!" (Acts 4:31)

Christ's peace,

Jim
